Time for change. I say Time for stretching!

It was just the other day that I realized that we are almost finished with August.  Holy moly!  Dare I say it?  We are only a stones throw away from entering into fall once again here in Canada.  For me, the fall is the best time of the year, it's not too hot, it's not freezing and the colours are so beautiful.

Warm up and cool down now...

Remembering to stretch before and after activities should come second nature, but don't forget that all the activities you do in your day merits a good stretch.  The summer is just around the corner and already I see people out gardening in this immense May heat.  Crouching and bending, lifting and raking are all activities where you use your muscles a great deal.  Stretch before gardening, similar to how you would stretch before a jog, and see how your body responds.  Remember holding stretching at the point of a pull, not pain, and for a length of 30 seconds is recommended for an optimal stretch.  Don't forget to breath and relax as you're stretching, don't rush it, just enjoy.

Happy stretching!
